Fishing MemoirsTerms of Use
These terms apply when you use the Fishing Memoirs apps for iPhone and Android (the "app"), provided by Ioannis Stavrou, Cyprus ("we"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
1. Your account
You need an account to use the app. Keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 14 years old to create an account.
2. Fishing Memoirs Pro
- The app is free to use with limits, for example a monthly number of species identifications and a maximum number of Keep items. Fishing Memoirs Pro removes these limits and adds features such as sharing catches to the community feed.
- Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play at the prices shown in the app. Payment is charged to your store account.
- Where a free trial is offered, the subscription starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, videos, notes and other content you add. You give us permission to store, process and display your content as needed to operate the app, including showing content you choose to share to other users. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other users have already received in notifications.
Only share content you have the right to share. When you share a catch, its location is visible to other users; keep the catch private if you want to keep the spot to yourself.
4. Community rules
Do not use the app to post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or violent; that infringes someone else's rights; or that shows illegal fishing. Do not spam, impersonate others, or try to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. To report content, email support@fishingmemoirs.com.
5. Species identification and other information
Species identification uses artificial intelligence and can be wrong. Weather, species facts and other information in the app are for general reference only. Always check local fishing regulations, protected species, size and bag limits, and whether a fish is safe to eat, using official sources. You are responsible for fishing legally and safely.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep the app running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and we may change, add or remove features. If we discontinue the app, we will give reasonable notice where possible so you can request a copy of your data.
7. Liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss arising from reliance on information in the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. App Store terms
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app before they take effect.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. This does not take away protections you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
