Fishing MemoirsPrivacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Fishing Memoirs apps for iPhone and Android (the "app") collect, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
1. Who is responsible
Fishing Memoirs is developed by Ioannis Stavrou, based in Cyprus, who is the controller of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact: support@fishingmemoirs.com.
2. Information we collect

The app asks for access to your camera, microphone (for recording videos), photos, location and notifications only when you use a feature that needs it. You can change these permissions in your device settings.
3. What other users can see
Catches are private unless you choose to share them. When you share a catch to the community feed (Shoal), other users can see its photo, species, measurements, date, weather, tackle, notes and its location, including its exact position on a map, together with your nickname and avatar. Shared videos, your comments and your likes are also visible to other users. If you would rather not reveal a fishing spot, keep that catch private.
4. Service providers
We use the following providers to run the app. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes described.

We do not sell your personal data, show ads, or use analytics or advertising trackers.
5. International transfers
Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
6. How long we keep data
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our active systems within 30 days. Copies in our providers' backups expire on their regular backup cycle. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email support@fishingmemoirs.com from the address linked to your account. You can also complain to the Cyprus supervisory authority, the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, or to the authority in your own country.

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. See how to delete your account.
9. Children
The app is not intended for children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers, and access to stored data is restricted to what the service needs. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app.
